A collector's collection
Bought at age 20 by Nicolas Chenivesse-Menzler after twenty years of neglect, Château de Charmes had been stripped and emptied. Over ten years, its owner restored it, refurnished it, and opened it to the public. Now that the château is up for sale, this entire collection is being offered at auction: furniture, paintings, works of art, hunting and riding mementos, clocks, lighting fixtures, tableware.
The sale is being held right at the château, a rare setup that lets visitors discover each object in its original setting, from the garden to the chapel to the grand salon and the boudoir.
A sale open to everyone
The preview and the sale are open to everyone, with no obligation to buy. Every budget is welcome: the morning session, devoted to household items, offers lots starting at just a few dozen euros. The afternoon is dedicated to furniture and decorative paintings.
